The Indian Masala Chai – A healthy and Hearty Beverage

Drinking a hot cup of tea has become a very popular all over the world. In India, this hot popular beverage is called as Chai. Another variety of tea that is quite popular is called the Masala Chai. Tea India Masala Chai is very popular all over in India. It is served in the various business communities during business transactions or any business related gatherings in different regions of India. People hear drink hot tea even when it is scorching temperature during the market hours.

The Masala Chai Recipe 
There is a simple recipe for the preparation of Masala Chai. It is prepared with four main basic ingredients of mixed grounded spices they are ginger root, Cinnamon Powder, Clove Powder and Cardamom pods or powder. In addition to these fresh Mint Leaves and Lemongrass can also be added to the tea.



People from different parts of India modify this recipe due to regional influence or traditions. This tea may also contain - Saffron, Anise seeds, Bay leaves and Holy Basil leaves. Moreover, the quantity of each ingredient also varies depending on the taste of the person making it or drinking it. People can also add raw white sugar, Brown Sugar or Honey as a Sweetener.
 Fresh Milk or milk powder or non-dairy products addition makes Indian Masala tea a unique National Beverage. Some version may also contain vanilla or chocolate. Steamed milk added Chai preparation called Chai Latte is available in some coffee shops.

Indian Chai is very hearty as well as a refreshing drink. It is also a healthy and nutritious drink that can be enjoyed at any time of day or night.
